Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Super simple, super comforting. That's what a grilled cheese sandwich is to me!

I have this any time I'm craving something cheesy. It goes really well with tomato soup or mushroom soup!


INGREDIENTS

Cooking time: 10min

Servings: 1

  1. Bread x 2 slices

  2. Butter

  3. Gouda cheese x 1 slice

  4. Havarti cheese x 1 slice

  5. Cheddar cheese x 1 slice

Chops' Note: You can use any cheese you want, but this is my favourite combination. You can even use 3 slices of the same cheese! Other popular cheese choices for a grilled cheese sandwich are mozzarella, muenster and emmental.

HOW TO COOK

1. Butter two slices of bread generously.

2. Place the two pieces of bread butter-side down on a pan and toast on low heat.

3. Put the Havarti and Gouda cheese slices on one piece of bread and the Cheddar cheese on the other piece of bread.

  • I do this because cheddar melts a little slower than Havarti and Gouda, so this way, the Cheddar gets more heat from the stove.

3. When the cheese looks soft and melty, put the two bread slices together.

4. Cut in half and watch the gorgeous melty cheese ooze out!

5. Optional: Serve with a soup, like tomato soup or mushroom soup. If you don't have time to make your own, I personally like the Soup Spoon's soups, which they sell in nice ready-made packets.
